Important Safety Information: Compounded GLP-1 (semaglutide)

Common effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain, most often around a dose change. Serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease (reported more often than with placebo in trials), kidney injury from dehydration, and hypoglycemia in combination with certain other medications, including insulin and sulfonylureas. FDA-approved semaglutide products carry a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors observed in rodents; human relevance is not established, and semaglutide must not be used by anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2. Diabetic retinopathy complications have been reported, mainly in people with existing retinopathy. Current labeling also calls for monitoring for new or worsening depression or suicidal thoughts, as a precaution rather than a confirmed causal link, discontinue and seek care if these occur.
