Important Safety Information: Finasteride

Reported adverse effects include decreased libido, erectile difficulty, reduced ejaculate volume, testicular pain, depressed mood, anxiety, and, uncommonly, breast tenderness or enlargement. Some men report sexual and mood effects persisting after discontinuation. Depression and suicidal ideation have been reported. Finasteride lowers PSA, which affects prostate cancer screening. Tell any clinician who orders a PSA that you take it.

Contact your care team promptly if you experience mood changes, and stop and seek evaluation for breast changes or lumps.

Finasteride must not be handled by anyone who is pregnant or may become pregnant, as it can cause abnormalities in a male fetus.
