Important Safety Information: Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)
Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. Risks include elevated hematocrit and associated clot risk, worsening sleep apnea, acne, fluid retention, breast tenderness or enlargement, mood changes, increased blood pressure, and suppression of your body's own testosterone production. Sperm production may be suppressed, and recovery is not guaranteed. Testosterone products no longer carry a boxed warning for cardiovascular risk, and the FDA has added a class-wide warning that testosterone can raise blood pressure. Randomised safety data have also reported higher rates of atrial fibrillation, other arrhythmias requiring intervention, acute kidney injury and pulmonary embolism in people taking testosterone than in those taking placebo. Your physician will review your cardiovascular history with you before prescribing and will monitor you while you are on it.
Monitoring bloodwork is required on this protocol.
